QUIET LEADERSHIP Winning Hearts, Minds and Matches by Carlo Ancelotti, with Chris Brady and Mike Forde
Portfolio Penguin | 26th May 2016 | £16.99
Legendary football coach Carlo Ancelotti is to write a management memoir for Portfolio Penguin. Quiet Leadership will be published in Spring 2016. Carlo Ancelotti has won football’s ultimate prize, the Champions League, a record five times – twice as a player and three times as a manager. He has coached clubs including Parma, Juventus, AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Chelsea (winning the Double in 2010).
Yet Ancelotti’s managerial approach could not be further from the aggressive theatricals favoured by many of his rivals. Rather than imposing his will on superstar players, he builds team cultures through the relationships he develops – he allows talent to flourish. His understated style has earned him the fierce loyalty of the likes of David Beckham, Zlatan Ibrahimović and Cristiano Ronaldo.
In Quiet Leadership, Ancelotti will reveal the full, riveting story of his managerial career – his methods, mentors, mistakes and greatest triumphs. He will take the reader right inside the dressing room to trace the characters, challenges and decisions that have shaped him. The result is both a scintillating memoir and a rare insight into the business of leadership.
The book will be co-written by Chris Brady, Director of the Centre for Sports Business at Salford University and author of The 90-Minute Manager, and Mike Forde, Former Director of Football Operations and Executive Board member at Chelsea FC. Currently a High Performance consultant with NFL, NBA and MLB owners and teams in U.S. Sport.
Quiet Leadership: Winning Hearts, Minds and Matches by Carlo Ancelotti (with Chris Brady and Mike Forde) will be published on 26th May 2016 by Portfolio Penguin.
